Our laboratory regularly proposes internships and both PhD students and post-doctoral fellows are welcome. Please contact the group leaders to submit applications.

Group leader position (2020)

The Ion Channel and Synaptic Neurobiology Unit (UNIS, headed by D. Debanne) offers a unique expertise in functional cell plasticity and molecular analysis of ion channel neurobiology. UNIS uses a wide range of experimental approaches in molecular and cellular neuroscience (biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology, patch-clamp, computer modeling, live cell imaging, single cell qPCR,…). The scientific quality of UNIS is attested by its publications in high profile journals (Neuron, Nature Communications, PNAS, Nature Reviews Neuroscience,…).

We are seeking for a young group leader, typically as a first independent position specialized in cellular neuroscience (molecular & cellular neurobiology, modeling of neuronal mechanisms or brain circuit neurophysiology).

We expect candidates to develop a competitive and independent research program. Applicants should hold a PhD or MD/PhD degree, with a record of outstanding training and exceptional research potential.

Interested candidates should send their application composed of a CV, description of research interest (max 5 pages) and the names of two references who will be asked to provide support letters to

The deadline for application is 15th March 2020. Preselection of the candidates will occur in spring before interview in May 2020. The selected candidate will then be invited to apply for young investigator programs (ERC Starting grant, ATIP/Avenir program) during the fall 2020.
